together with how much is paid for a winning Connecticut Play4 number are listed below.
The basic Play4 play types are:
Straight: You win by matching the numbers in the exact order drawn. For example, if you play the Play4 number 8142 as
straight, you'll win only if the winning number is 8142; you don't win anything if the winning number is 8412 or 8144.
The prize of Connecticut Play4 Straight game is $5,000 for a $1 game and $2,500 for a 50 cents game.
Box: You win by matching the numbers in any order. For example, if you play 8142 as box, you'll win if the
Play4 winning number contains the four digits 1, 2, 4, and 8 in any order, such as 2148 or 4218; but not if any one is missing like 8144.
The prize of Connecticut Play4 box play depends on whether the digits are repeated or not.
- A number such as 8142, where none of the digits repeats is called a 24-way box and pays $208 for a $1 game and $104 for a 50 cents game.
- If one of the digits is double, like 8182, then it is called a 12-way box and pays $416 for a $1 game and $208 for a 50-cents game.
- If two digits are doubled, like 8118, then it is called a 6-way box and pays $834 for a $1 game and $417 for a 50-cents game.
- If one of the digits is tripled, like 8188, then it is called a 4-way box and pays $1250 for a $1 game and $625 for a 50-cents game.
- There is no box play for numbers with all four identical digits such as 8888. These Play4 numbers can only be played straight.
And the shortcut play types are:
Straight/Box: is simply a combination of a 50-cent Straight play and a 50-cent Box play. This play type is designed
simply to save you time; it is a shortcut of playing one game of straight and another game of box of the same number. That is, instead of
filling one panel for 50-cents Straight and another panel for 50-cents Box, of the same number, you might as well fill out just one
panel and mark it as Straight/Box. Note that the minimum amount for a Straight/Box game is $1.
The prize of a Straight/Box play is the sum of a 50 cents Straight game and a 50-cents Box game. For example, if you play 8142 as Straight/Box, and if the
winning number is 8142, then you'll win $2604 ($2500 for the Straight part + $104 for the Box part). If the winning number is 8124, you'll
win only $104 for the box part since you did not match it Straight. How much do you win with Straight/Box of the number
Combo: This is the same as playing Straight all possible combination of the selected number. For example, if you want to win
$5000 on the number 8188 in any order, then you have to play all the possible combinations, namely, 8188, 1888, 8818, and 8881,
at a price of $4 ($1 for each). The shortcut is simply to fill out 8188 and mark Combo for $1; you'll still pay $4. Note that a $1 combo play
of a non-repeating-digit numbers such as 8142 costs $24 since there are 24 possible combinations (1248, 2148, 1284, 1482, etc.).
