How to Play Oregon Pick 4 Lottery

From a Oregon Lottery retailer (a gas station, a convenience store, a food store, etc. which plays OR Lottery) get Pick 4 betting slips. Unlike, other states, this betting slip contains a space only for one number selection, but with several playing options.

Each betting slip contains an area where you mark your selected number. This area contains four columns of the digits 0 to 9. Mark the first digit of your number on the first column, the second digit on the second column, the third digit on the third column, and the fourth digit on the fourth column. So, if you want to play 8142, then 8 will be marked in the first column, 1 in the second column, 4 in the third column, and 2 in the fourth column.

Then, there is an area where you choose your play type. The Oregon Pick 4 has seven options and you can select as many as you want. (Pick 4 games of other states will allow only one play type for each number selected). Next to each play type mark the amount you want to wager for that play type (50¢ or $1). Note that the minimum you can play per game slip is $1 per drawing.

Next, present the completed playslip to the lottery retailer to receive your printed ticket. Check your ticket immediately to ensure that the numbers, dates, and play type match your request.

Play Types and How You Win the Oregon Pick 4 Lottery

There are seven ways you can play and win the Oregon Pick 4. The play types can broadly divided into two groups - Exact Order plays and Any Order plays. Moreover, there is a shortcut play of exact orders for 3&4 digit called Eazy 4 Combo. These types together with how much is paid for a winning Oregon Pick 4 type are listed below.

  1. Exact Order

  2. Exact Order can be played for all 4 digits as well as for the first 3 or last 3 digits.

    1. 4-Digit Exact Order
    2. You win by matching the winning Pick 4 number in the exact order drawn. For example, if you play the 8142 as Straight, you'll win only if the winning number is exactly 8142; you don't win anything if the winning number is 8412 or 8144. The prize of Oregon Pick 4 Exact-4 game is $5,000 for a $1 game and $2,500 for a 50¢ game.

    3. 3-Digit Exact Order
    4. You have the option of choosing either the firrst 3 or the last 3 in Exact Order.

If you choose First 3 in Exact order, you win by matching the front 3 of the winning Pick 4 number in the exact order drawn. For example, if your number is 8142 you'll win only if the winning number starts with exactly 814, no matter what the fourth digit may be; you don't win anything if the winning number is like 8412 or 0814. The prize of Exact-First-3 option is $600 for a $1 game and $300 for a 50¢ game.

If you choose Last 3 in Exact order, you win by matching the last 3 of the winning Pick 4 number in the exact order drawn. For example, if your number is 8142 you'll win only if the winning number ends with exactly 142, no matter what the first digit may be; you don't win anything if the winning number is like 0412 or 1428. The prize of Exact-Last-3 option is $600 for a $1 game and $300 for a 50¢ game.

  3. Any Order

  4. Any Order can be played for all 4 digits as well as for the First 3 or Last 3 digits.

    1. 4-Digit Any Order
    2. You win by matching the numbers in any order. For example, if you your number is 8142, you'll win if the Pick 4 winning number contains the four digits 1, 2, 4, and 8 in any order, such as 2148 or 4218; but not if any one is missing like 8144.

The prize of Oregon Pick 4 All 4 Any Order play depends on whether the digits are repeated or not.

      • A number such as 8142, where none of the digits repeats pays $250 for a $1 game and $125 for a 50¢ game.
      • If one of the digits is double, like 8182, it pays $500 for a $1 game and $250 for a 50¢ game.

    3. 3-Digit Any Order
    4. You have the option of choosing either the firrst 3 or the last 3 in Any Order.

all 4, front 3, last 3, front 2, middle 2, and last 2 of the winning number.

The prizes for a 50¢ wager are: $1,000 if you match all 4, $75 if you match the first or last 3, and $3 if you match the first, last, or middle 2. The prizes are doubled for a $1 game.
