How to Play Rhode Island The Numbers Lottery
From a Rhode Island Lottery retailer (a gas station, a convenience store, a food store, etc. which plays RI Lottery) get
a The Numbers playslip. A playslip contains four different play areas, marked A through D. Each play area
represents a different The Numbers play. If you want to play only one number, fill out only A; if you want to play 8
numbers, then get two playslips and fill all the panels, A to D of both of them.
Each play panel contains a game selection area (4 Digit, 3 Digit, or Back 3), a Bet Type selection area (Str, Box, or Combo),
a wager selection area (50¢, $1, or $5), and a number selection area. Note that $2 plays are also available, but your plays
must be entered through the Lottery terminal by your Lottery retailer.
The number selection area contains four colums of the digits 0 to 9. Mark the first digit of your number on the first column, the second
digit on the second column, the third digit on the third column, and the fourth digit on the fourth column. So, if you want to play
8142, then 8 will be marked in the first column, 1 in the second column, 4 in the third column, and 2 in the fourth column. If you
have choosen 3 Digit or Back 3 games, then fill out only the first three or the last 3 columns only, respectively.
Next select and mark the amount (keep in mind that Combo cannot be played for 50¢). Present the completed playslip to the lottery retailer to receive your printed ticket. Check your ticket immediately to
ensure that the numbers, dates, and play type match your request.
