Virginia Lottery Pick 3 Pair Frequency and Last Appearance

The Virginia Lottery Pick 3 pairs analysis involves two sets of data. The first is the number of times a pair is drawn for the entire history of the game while the second set is how many draws have elapsed since a Pick 3 pair's last appearance. Whether pairs are included as a play type of the state's game or not, these analyses coupled with others, such as digits and sums analyses, will hopefully help you select the Pick 3 numbers to play.

The Analysis was performed on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 with 654 as the latest Virginia Pick 3 number. Just in case, the front pair of this number is 65, back pair, 54, and split pair, 64.

Expected frequency of each Pick 3 pair is 139 (rounded to the closest integer).

Each Pick 3 pair, whether repeating or not, has equal chance of being drawn. Since we have 100 of each (front, back, and split), such pairs are expected to show up every 100 draws. We have shown in blue those Pick 3 pairs that have not been drawn between 200 and 300 draws (late pairs). And in red, those that have not been drawn in the last 300 or more draws(very late pairs)

There is also another method of pairs analysis which we haven't included here. It is "pairs at any position and any order", or in other words, "two numbers appearing together". For instance, 12 in 120, 219, 102, etc. In fact, you can use our Virginia Pick 3 number search by entering "12-" to list all past Pick 3 draws that contain 1 and 2. In such type of pairs analysis, non-repeating pairs such as 12 have a better chance of being drawn than repeating, such as 11. In fact we do have this analysis for the current and previous months on our compact 2-month Virginia lottery page. Just select Pick 3 from the left bottom menu under "One Game", and then 'Pairs' from the top menu.
